RaceROM is here
Motorsport features, factory refinement
RaceROM is a suite of feature enhancements for OEM ECUs tuned with EcuTek tools, offering increased tuning and driving capabilities, initially for Subaru electronic throttle (drive-by-wire) ECUs.
The OEM ECU offers the best cold start, driveability and refinement compared with aftermarket hardware, but aftermarket ECUs offer the motorsport features enthusiasts want. Replace the standard ECU and you usually lose the refinement. RaceROM removes that compromise: a software upgrade to the standard ECU that adds custom calibration options beyond standard fuelling, ignition and boost control, while keeping its driveability, sophistication and fuel economy.
Due to space constraints in some ECUs, not every feature is available on every vehicle, but all features are available on the majority. 153 Subaru ECUs are supported.
RaceROM Subaru, available now at Corten-Miller

Mitsubishi diesel remaps
Developed in-house, through the diagnostic socket
All our diesel remaps are developed by us on our 4WD Dyno Dynamics rolling road and completed through the diagnostic socket. We do not remove the ECU. This is not a plug-in module but a full recalibration of the vehicle's ECU.

Case study: tuning box v full custom remap
Mitsubishi L200 Animal, 2.5, 2007 (quoted 163 BHP)
A tuning box (also called a smoke box or plug-in module) plugs into the wiring harness, intercepts signals from the ECU to part of the fuel system and tricks it into increasing fuel pressure. It is a very crude method, and it is what Mitsubishi supply as their performance upgrade on the 2.5 and 3.2 diesels.
On our dyno the factory module proved very inconsistent: back to back runs varied from as low as 112 BHP up to 164.8 BHP, at times below a standard vehicle. With the module removed, the vehicle made the same power every run, 142 BHP. Then came the ECUTEK remap.
Why ECUTEK
Advantages over aftermarket ECUs and piggyback chips
- Keep complex preset maps such as cold start, ignition learning and idle control
- Safety maps, sensor checks and limp-home modes stay in place to help prevent serious engine damage
- Customise the maps for exactly what you need: never settle for stock maps
- Reduce the risk of damage from false sensor input or boost clamps
- Completely non-invasive: no chips soldered onto the board
- No extra hardware to package with the car
